Our Amazing Work!
We had lots of fun this week learning how to talk like a pirate and making pirate hats! We even had pirate names! Yo ho ho!
We had two special visitors into Nursery who showed us how to look after our teeth! We really enjoyed using the giant toothbrushes to carefully brush the giant teeth using the two minute sand timers. 😃
We all had an amazing time running with our parents and carers at our ‘Race for Life’ event as well as raising lots of money for good causes!
Mums, Dads and Grandparents had a wonderful time playing with their children and grandchildren at our ‘Summer’ stay and play session! 🌞🌻😍
We have been talking about what job we would like to do when we grow up! We have enjoyed playing with the fire station and dressing up! 😃
Nursery had great fun pond dipping. We found so many different species of creatures that live in our school pond!
We had an exciting time visiting our school quad pond to see and feed our fish! We also really enjoyed making ABAB patterns with the beads and little people.
We enjoyed listening to the story ‘How Many Jellybeans?’ After we sorted the jellybeans by colour and then made ABAB colour patterns. Finally we ate them!
We have been learning about farming and farm animals. We enjoyed helping the Little Red Hen to make bread! Afterwards we ate it and described how it smelt and tasted! 😋
All the children in the Early Years learnt about the King’s Coronation. We decorated cakes, made beautiful crowns and had a street party! It was such a fun day.
The children have been enjoying the story ‘Jack and the Beanstalk.’ They have been making tall and short beanstalks, building castles in the (shaving foam) clouds and planting beans!
The children have had lots of fun learning about dinosaurs! They have tried to say their names and found out how and where they lived. They enjoyed drawing a picture of a volcano and watching a volcano erupt! 🌋😍
We had lots of fun on Valentine’s Day! The children made love potions with flowers, rescued ladybirds from red jelly and made red hearts with handprints and play dough. ❤️
The children have found our space topic so exciting!! We watched the space shuttle launch and counted down from 10 to blast off! We read and retold the stories ‘Whatever Next’ and ‘Aliens Love Underpants.’ We also had fun singing the song ‘5 Little Men in Flying Saucer…’ and got messy making rockets out of junk materials. 🚀

We have been learning about light and dark! 🌇🌃 We found out that some animals are nocturnal such as owls. We mixed paint to make light and dark colours, investigated shadows and played with torches in a den! 🔦
The children have been enjoying the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt!’ They have been dressing up as bears, building a little bear town and making a collage of the story! 🐻
The children have been loving our new P.E. lessons with our specialist P.E. coach Mr Brown! They have been listening to instructions and taking part in a variety of dance, games and gymnastic activities.
We have been learning about Winter. ☃️ The children have had fun building log cabins with the construction, sticking snowman body parts together, making patterns in shaving foam and creating snow pictures! 💙
Pre-School and Nursery Christmas Songs to parents – 14th Dec 2022
Lots of parents came in to see our little singing show and then many parents stayed on for a mince pie!

The Nursery children had an amazing time on their trip to see Santa at St Peters Garden Centre! They enjoyed waking up Santa, whizzing around on the fair rides, bouncing on the trampolines, walking around the lake spotting Christmas pictures, looking at the animals and finally having a snack in the yurt! What a fun time they all had! 🎅😍❤️
We had a Nursery Stay and Play today full of fun and laughter!

In Nursery this week we have been learning about Diwali. We read a story called Dipal’s Diwali. The children were encouraged to speak about their favourite parts of the story and what they learnt about how the festival is celebrated. We’ve had so much fun! We explored and made patterns in the rice, handprints in the sand, dressed up and played with masks and tried some poppadoms
In Nursery this week we have been thinking about Harvest time. We all enjoyed singing Big Yellow Combine Harvester to our parents in the assembly. We have been exploring lots of Autumns things like conkers and pumpkins. We made a shop and played with real food!
All of the Nursery Children have settled in really well and are enjoying their Topic called ‘All about me’.
We’ve been learning about parts of the body.
We love playing with the theatre.
We have been learning about how to look after our teeth and gums.
2021-2022
We had our Nursery Stay and Play this morning. It was great to have so many parents joining in with the fun!
We had an amazing visitor who came into school with lots of different animals. We got to hold and touch a variety of animals including a snake, a cockroach, a lizard, an owl and a honeybear. It was such a great experience. Massive thank you to Mrs Wilkes who organised this for us and to the PTFA who paid for this event.
This week we have all been celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We made crowns and had lots of fun playing together with the Reception class. We had afternoon scones with jam and cream!
This week in Nursery our Topic has been about Minibeasts. We have been learning how to identify and name them. We have listened to lovely stories and songs about Minibeasts and have been learning Maths by matching the correct amounts to numerals. We have done all sorts of arts and crafts and we also went on a Minibeast hunt in Forest School!
This week we have read the story of Rameena’s Ramadan. This story helps to explore the themes and customs related to Ramadan and Eid. We explored Rameena’s feelings of excitement and sadness.
The nursery children are learning to draw! Each week we follow instructions and have a go at drawing an animal or object. We practice and have fun!
Great fun in forest school today! The Easter bunny must have been to our school!
We’ve had great fun pond dipping this week. We discovered lots of little insects that live in the water.
Nursery have celebrated World Down Syndrome Day this week. We used a book called ‘This is Ella’ to help the children gain a better understanding.
Nursery have been on Safari this week!
We have also been thinking about signs of Spring.
The focus letter this week in Nursery is ‘s’.
We had ‘salt and sky’ brought in from home!
World Book Day!
We had a great time this week with our dress up day for World Book Day. We learnt all about the importance of books and how we can learn so much from reading and sharing books. We all dressed up as a character from one of our favourite books. Pre-School came over to see us and we all did a parade on the playground. After that Pre-School joined us in the Nursery Classroom and we all shared books together.
